First steps for new students to access Brockport technology resources 

It's important that you know your SUNY Brockport account as soon as possible. Your NetID is the primary account you will use at Brockport. Your NetID is used for Wi-Fi, computer labs, Brightspace, Banner, email, and to apply for a parking permit.

How do I reset my NetID password?

How do I get help from IT (submit a ticket)?

To submit a help ticket, visit our Self Service Portal at brockport.edu/go/itservicedesk or select IT Service Desk from the Quick Links menu on the Brockport website. From there you can click the "Submit a ticket" button. 

Do I need to buy a specific type of computer?

No, almost all computers and tablets are supported on our network. For our recommendations, look here: Minimum Hardware Requirements, at this time we do not recommend Chromebooks. 

Does Brockport have wireless internet?

Yes, all Residence Halls, administrative, and academic buildings have wireless internet! You can even print from your laptop using Secure Print: Web Printing Instructions.

Do I need to purchase a printer for my dorm room?

It is not necessary to purchase a printer because Brockport has printers available for students to use in every building.

Does Brockport have a printing policy?

Students are provided with $45 of free-of-charge printing during each semester in student access computing labs. That is equivalent to 450 black and white printed pages. After that you can request additional funds to continue printing if necessary through the IT Service Desk Portal.

Are computer discounts available to Brockport Students?

What software is supported and does Brockport offer discounts for this supported software?

  • Software Available in Labs

  • Using VLAB - This program allows Brockport students access to our campus lab computers from home. Once this program is installed, the user can simply log in and utilize any of our PC software programs!
