Enrolling in Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) for Account Recovery

Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) Account Recovery

Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) is a Microsoft utility that allows Brockport users to reset their own passwords using their Multi-Facor Authentication (MFA) methods. When registering for SSPR, you will be required to register or verify two self service verification methods. When SSPR registration is turned on, you will have the option to skip the registration for 7 days. You will only have to complete the registration process once.

Why is SSPR Important?

SSPR is important because it is how you will be able to recover access to your Brockport account in the future if you get locked out.  During the Fall 2022 semester, the existing password reset utility in web banner will go away and be replaced with SSPR. This is not a second method you will be required to use when logging in, but a way to gain access to your account if you get locked out.

How to Enroll in SSPR

  1.  On your computer open the web browser on your device and go to the password reset registration page ( https://aka.ms/ssprsetup ). When you log into Brockport services if you don’t have two MFA or SSPR methods registered you will prompted to enroll.
  2. Enter your Brockport email. You will be redirected to the Brockport login page. Login with your email address and password.
  3. Set up your chosen method using the instructions below.
